Maui Top 7 Fine Dining Restaurants

Maui Fine Dining

Here are my top 7 picks for luxury restaurants on Maui.

#1 Mama’s Fish House –

Mama’s Fish House is in Paia. The scenery there is beautiful. It’s right by the water so while you enjoy the food, you can look out to the ocean. The food there is delicious but it’s on the expensive side. Since the food is expensive, people like to go there for special occasions. Also, the restaurant gets full fast so make sure to make reservations a few months in advance.

#2 Lahaina Grill –

As you can tell by the name, Lahaina Grill is on the west side of the island in Lahaina. Not only do they have great food but they also have over-the-top service. They have a variety of different foods. This restaurant is also a bit on the pricey side so it’s good for special occasions like a birthday.

#3 Kula Bistro –

Some people might think that a bistro isn’t fine dining but the food there is amazing. The bistro is located in an old building in Kula which is up-country. They have great portions there and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Although the ambiance is a little funky it is still a place to check out. They have many delicious desserts there so if you have a sweet tooth be sure to add it to your list. Try to get there early because unless you have a party of six or more they won’t take reservations.

#4 Matteo’s Osteria –

Matteo’s Osteria is an Italian restaurant tucked away in a corner at the Wailea Gateway Center. Matteo is an amazing chef who makes some of the best Italian food on the island. They have a variety of different pizzas and pasta. Matteo’s Osteria is only open for dinner therefore if you’re looking for somewhere for lunch, you’ll have to find somewhere else.

#5 Mala Ocean Tavern –

Mala Ocean Tavern is also located on the west side, in Lahaina. It’s a little restaurant off of the road. The scenery there is to die for. They have an outdoor seating area that is right on the water. They mainly serve seafood but they have some other options too like chicken and salads.

#6 Spago –

Spago is in the Four Seasons which is in Wailea. The views from the restaurant are beautiful. Spago is a world reclaimed restaurant and is Wolfgang Puck-inspired. Once again, Spago is on the more pricey side. Most of their dishes contain meat. If you are a meat lover then I would recommend it.

#7 Cuatro –

Cuatro is a small restaurant in Kihei. The food there is exquisite. Although they don’t have amazing views, the ambiance inside is great. They allow you to bring your own bottle of alcohol but there is a corkage fee.

Honorable Mentions –

#8 Tommy Bahamas –

Tommy Bahamas is on the second floor of The Shops at Wailea. It is a chain restaurant but the food is always consistent and delicious. The restaurant is right by the Tommy Bahamas store so you can eat then shop.

#9 Morimoto’s –

Morimoto’s is in the Andaz hotel in Wailea. They serve Asian food like sushi. If you’re not a fan of Asian food then don’t worry they serve other kinds of food too. They’re open for lunch and dinner.
