About Kai Malu
Hey, everybody. Today, we are exploring Kai Malu, which is in the heart of Wailea. It’s a really cool enclave of 150 homes. There’s 75 buildings and each one of the properties is a duplex. There’s two different floor plans that are about 1,790-some square feet and 1,850 square feet. The two different floor plans, one of them has a master bedroom on the downstairs, and that is the 1850 square foot plan, and then the other one has the master bedroom upstairs. The one with master bedroom upstairs is a little unique. The downstairs bedroom is sort of more of an office or a den as opposed to a full-on bedroom, so it’s just something to keep in mind.
As you can see, each one of these units has its own two-car garage, which is probably one of the best features in the entire development, having your two-car garage for all your toys and your storage. A lot of people here are second homeowners and they come and go, and there are quite a few people that live here, full-time residents, so it is definitely a community. They do not allow vacation rentals in this complex, but guess what? Fido is welcome. So is Fifi the cat. So, that’s a nice thing. This is a very pet-friendly community. You can have two pets in each unit, so really great property in that regards as well.
Kai Malu Amenities
The fitness center here is pretty spectacular. It probably has one of the best views in all of Wailea. It’s an infinity pool that looks out over the Wailea community area, and then there’s a hot tub, a beautiful fitness room, a spa and sauna and showers. And then the manager’s office is right there, as well as the kitchen and the meeting room. It’s really a well-done fitness center and community area.
A couple of other beautiful features about Kai Malu, the buildings are all exteriors are stucco, the roofs are tiled. You can have your own private photovoltaic electric generation system, which is really cool. Also, some of the units have their own private pools, some have pools and spas, and some have nothing in the backyard. If you have a pool or a pool and spa, the maintenance fees do go up, so that’s something to be aware of. It is nice to have your own spa and pool, but the pool here is pretty spectacular, so not to worry.
Kai Malu was built between 2006 and 2008. There’s 150 total units, and it’s built on about 25 acres of land here in the heart of Wailea. It really is well-spread out, really a sense of community, not a vacation condo where there’s a lot of people coming and going. It really is, you know your neighbors. You know when they’re going to be here, so it’s a great property.
