There are wonderful places to visit all over Maui. I remember one time I asked a great friend what the best part of Maui was, and his answer was, “Its variations in perfection.”
I live in South Maui because that’s where I do a lot of my business. I also like that it’s a little closer to the airport, grocery store, and hospital. In West Maui, you are going to be nearly an hour away from these resources, and it’s a bit more of an inconvenience from that perspective.
Central Maui is the bustling part of the island.
I think South Maui has the best weather in the world. Both the east and west sides have some beautiful beaches, but we don’t have as many tourists in South Maui. South Maui also offers two different roads to get around the island, while West Maui has just one road and is more likely to get backed up with traffic.
Another popular option is Upcountry, where you can have a little bit of cooler weather. Central Maui is the bustling city part of the island. No matter where you choose to live, Maui is a great place.
